Vastony LED Cabinet Humidor Review

Vastony LED Cabinet Humidor Review

Vastony Cabinet Humidor Review — Part 1: Initial Overview

The Vastony Cabinet Humidor made an excellent first impression right out of the box. On initial inspection, it feels solidly built with real heft, giving the sense that it’s constructed from quality materials rather than thin veneer or particle board. The exterior has a beautiful walnut finish with a classic design accented by a crown-molding style top that gives it a touch of elegance worthy of any cigar lounge, office, or bar display.

Inside, the craftsmanship continues to impress. The humidor features a thick, high-quality Spanish cedar lining that gives off that unmistakable cedar aroma the moment you open the door, a hallmark of a proper humidor interior. The drawers are particularly well thought out: each one has clear plexiglass panels on both the front and back, allowing the backlit LED lighting to shine through and illuminate the cigars beautifully. The full-backlight LED system with a subtle lattice pattern provides even lighting and adds a luxury display element that really makes your collection stand out.

Functionally, the drawers are built with tall side walls, giving you confidence when stacking cigars so there are no worries about them rolling or tipping out when you slide the drawers. While the door doesn’t use magnets like some other cabinet humidors, the fit and finish are exceptional. It closes with a satisfying resistance, creating a tight suction seal that requires deliberate effort to open. This suggests excellent humidity retention once the unit is seasoned and loaded.

Overall, the Vastony Cabinet Humidor presents itself as a well-designed, premium-feeling humidor that combines traditional looks with modern display features. The build quality, Spanish cedar lining, and thoughtful LED presentation make it feel far more upscale than its price point would suggest.

Vastony Cabinet Humidor Review — Part 2: Seasoning

After the initial inspection, it was time to season the humidor. For this process, I decided to use the included humidifier blocks, which are quite different from standard foam style humidifiers. Each block contains small absorbent beads, likely propylene glycol or a similar material, that swell when moistened with distilled water, gradually releasing humidity in a steady, controlled manner.

I filled the blocks carefully, allowing the beads to expand, and then placed them evenly throughout the humidor to ensure balanced humidity distribution. The thick Spanish cedar lining plays a big role in the seasoning process, as cedar naturally absorbs and holds moisture to stabilize the environment for cigars later on.

This humidor took its time , it required a full six days before it stabilized at 72% relative humidity, signaling that the seasoning process was complete. The longer timeline makes sense given the heavy cedar construction and tight seal, both of which require patience but pay off in performance once the humidor is ready for use.

In short be patient with the Vastony during seasoning. Its quality materials take time to fully absorb moisture, but that’s a good sign, it means the humidor will hold humidity well once it’s properly seasoned.

Vastony Cabinet Humidor Review — Part 3: Humidity Control with Boveda Packs

After the seasoning process was complete, it was time to test how well the humidor could hold humidity under real-world conditions. I loaded the humidor with a selection of cigars and added several 69% Boveda humidity packs to handle moisture regulation. Then, I closed the door and let the setup sit for five full days to monitor performance.

During that time, the internal humidity remained very stable, ranging only between 67% and 69%, right in the ideal zone for cigar storage. This consistency showed that the humidor’s tight seal and seasoned Spanish cedar lining were doing their job perfectly.

One of the standout features became even more apparent during this phase, the door suction. With the cedar now fully seasoned, the door closes with a strong, airtight seal that locks in moisture beautifully. Even without magnetic latches, the engineering of the fit and finish keeps everything tightly contained, which is exactly what you want in a quality humidor.

Overall, the Vastony performed exceptionally well with Boveda packs, maintaining steady humidity with minimal fluctuation. It’s clear that the craftsmanship and materials used in this humidor translate directly to reliable, consistent performance, something that’s not always guaranteed in this price range.

Vastony Cabinet Humidor Review — Part 4: Testing the Included Humidifier Blocks

After confirming the humidor’s excellent performance with Boveda packs, I moved on to test the included humidifier blocks to see how well they could maintain humidity on their own. I refilled both blocks with distilled water, allowing the internal beads to absorb and expand, and then placed them evenly inside the humidor.

By the next day, the humidity had climbed to 75%, which was a bit too high for my preference. To bring it down, I removed one of the humidifier blocks and left just a single block in place. Over the next four days, the humidity leveled out between 69% and 71%, which is acceptable.

This test once again highlighted the tight seal and build quality of the humidor, even with only one humidifier block, it held humidity steadily with very little fluctuation.

While the included blocks perform well, I still personally prefer Boveda packs due to their low maintenance and two-way humidity control, which eliminates the need for refilling. That said, the humidifier blocks are a perfectly functional alternative, and using a combination of both methods could offer an ideal balance of consistency and convenience.

Vastony Cabinet Humidor Review — Part 5: Storage Capacity

With humidity performance verified, it was time to test the storage capacity of the humidor. Using Toro-sized cigars of various ring gauges as the standard, I began loading the drawers to see how many they could comfortably hold without overcrowding.

Each drawer was able to accommodate 44 Toros, arranged in four neat rows of ten, stacked to the top of the drawer, with room to place an additional four cigars behind the rows near the back. Since all three drawers are identical in size, the total storage capacity comes to approximately 132 Toro cigars.

One design element worth noting is that the drawers meet top to bottom when closed, meaning there’s no extra vertical space above the cigars. While this prevents you from stacking additional rows, it actually has a key advantage, your cigars stay securely in place. You don’t have to worry about cigars rolling around or falling out when sliding the drawers open or closed.

The high drawer walls and tight fit make organizing your collection both easy and safe, and the visible front and back panels give a clean, display worthy look when the humidor’s backlight is on. Overall, the storage layout feels efficient and thoughtfully designed for both form and function.

Vastony Cabinet Humidor Review — Part 6: Final Thoughts

After spending time with the Vastony Cabinet Humidor, I can confidently say it’s one of the best wooden cabinet style humidors I’ve reviewed so far. The humidor shows excellent form and fit, with solid construction made from quality materials, not the lightweight veneer or particle board you sometimes find at this price point. The elegant, classic design gives it an upscale look, and the walnut finish makes it a visually appealing addition to any cigar room, bar, or office.

The drawer design is one of its standout features. Each drawer has plexiglass fronts and backs, allowing the LED backlight to shine through beautifully and illuminate your collection. The lighting adds a refined, display-worthy touch that enhances the humidor’s overall presentation.

The digital hygrometer is mounted externally on the front of the humidor. It functions accurately and provides easy visibility, though I personally prefer hygrometers to be mounted inside the unit for a more integrated feel. The humidor also does not include an accessory drawer, which suggests the design focus is squarely on maximum cigar storage capacity rather than multi-use compartments.

If I were to make a couple of small improvements, they would be:

  • Adding a battery pack option for the LED lighting instead of requiring it to be plugged in.
  • Allowing the door to open fully to 180 degrees rather than stopping at 90. The limited swing feels a bit restrictive and could put stress on the hinges if too much force is applied.

Despite those minor points, the humidor delivers excellent humidity retention performance, a luxurious appearance, and a sturdy build. It strikes a great balance between traditional craftsmanship and modern design elements.

Overall: This is one of my favorite wooden cabinets to date, stylish, functional, and reliable. The Vastony humidor definitely earns a strong thumbs up.
